The Dräger Perseus A500 offers the complete spectrum of capabilities you would expect from a state-of-the-art anesthesia machine. It also features additional ventilation, monitoring, and decision support functions that can help you master even the most demanding clinical situations. With the Perseus A500 Dräger makes a move from their traditional piston ventilator to a turbine system.
The Perseus A500 features TurboVent 2 ventilation technology. This offers a number of benefits for the user and the patient. With the TurboVent 2, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) can be applied to help support lung recruitment, reduce the work of breathing for the patient and assist the clinician to achieve a desired tidal volume. The ventilator can deliver tidal volumes up to 2,000 ml and inspiratory flows up to 180 L/min and is optimized for all patient categories. In addition, the TurboVent 2 allows for the effective delivery of Airway Pressure Release Ventilation (APRV) which supports continuity of care between the ICU and the OR. The Perseus is the first and only anesthesia machine in the U.S. to offer APRV.
